Using a Capo On Guitar
In this free guitar lesson, I explain why you should use a capo. Some guitarists think using a capo is a sissy way to transpose a piece of music. Others feel a capo is simply not necessary. But using a capo on guitar is about more than just playing in different keys–it’s about making use of chord shapes that make your playing sound better. A capo provides you with more options and opens up doors to more sounds. Smart players take advantage of this in order to better serve a song. If you’re in the habit of always using stock, standard chord shapes, give a capo a try to add more variety to your playing and find some new inspiration.
