Before you get into playing scales, chords, and progressions among other things, you need to know the notes on the fretboard. Knowing the notes will enable you to track roots and keys as you move around the neck. In Fretboard Theory Chapter 1, you get to know the notes along strings six and five and then use them to track notes on other strings with octaves. You learn about half-steps and whole-steps and how to fill in the gaps between natural notes with sharps and flats.
Notes on the 5th string 2:30
Notes on the 6th string 9:39
Sharp and Flat notes 14:13
Octave notes 17:54
